Thank you Sandy for the lovely response. Yes the husks are very beneficial and they keep a long time. make sure no mold on it, keep it in a dry place. No white or yellow onion parts should be attached just the husk itself. I am not sure about the exact self life but I think they would last years in a dry place. I would recommend a bag that breaths like some type of mash bag that the onions come in could be reused for this purpose. I make this tea all the time every time we cup up on onion I make tea from the husk, then compost the husk.
